York Marriott Hotel is situated in the historic city of York, just a short distance from the city centre. Surrounded by five acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and offering stunning views of York Racecourse, the hotel is the perfect place for a relaxing break.

The York Marriott Hotel was originally constructed in 1876 as the residential home of the Close family and named ‘The Hollies’. It was first transformed into a hotel in 1927 and was acquired by Marriott International in 2001. What was the Close family horse stables is now the hotel’s management centre. There are many period features and nods to the hotel’s rich history that you can still see today. Many of our meeting and event spaces, and suites, are named after prominent figures with links to the hotel.
